The Art Hub Hazel Grove is one of those community gems you can’t help but smile about, a cheerful, paint-splattered studio that has quietly become a home for artists, families and creative beginners alike.
Run by a group of local artists, The Art Hub offers classes in painting, drawing, ceramics and craft. It also runs exhibitions for Stockport-based creators, giving everyone from school pupils to retired hobbyists a platform to show their work. The ethos is simple, art for everyone.
Sessions include Family Art Sundays, LGBTQ+ Art Nights and Mindful Mondays, blending creativity with wellbeing. The facilitators go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome, no judgement, no jargon, just a cuppa, some brushes and encouragement.
The gallery shop sells handmade gifts, pottery and prints by local makers, many from queer and neurodiverse backgrounds. There’s always something happening, a seasonal market, an open studio weekend or a paint-and-prosecco night. It’s the perfect example of grassroots culture, inclusive, accessible and full of heart.
