The Goodness Collective is exactly what its name suggests, a collective of kind-hearted creatives who’ve turned a small town-centre unit into one of Stockport’s most inclusive, art-filled spaces. It’s a cafe, gallery and workshop venue rolled into one, where coffee meets community and creativity comes with a conscience.
Bright murals and handmade decor give it a relaxed, indie feel. On any given week, you might find open-mic nights, poetry slams, drag bingo, art markets or sustainable fashion pop-ups. The cafe menu is full of locally sourced vegetarian and vegan dishes, soups, loaded toasties and home-baked cakes, served by a team that makes everyone feel like they belong.
What makes The Goodness Collective stand out is its values. It works with local queer artists, neurodiverse creators and marginalised voices to make art visible and accessible. The space has hosted Trans Creative’s community art showcases, LGBTQ+ film nights and craft sessions raising funds for Pride charities.
It’s the kind of space that feels like a little pocket of Manchester’s Northern Quarter energy transplanted into Stockport, but with a friendlier, more down-to-earth edge. Grab a coffee, browse the art wall, chat with whoever’s sitting nearby, and you’ll leave feeling that bit lighter.
