Event essentials
Sparkle is where trans, non‑binary and gender‑diverse people—and our allies—fill Sackville Gardens with
visibility, softness and fierce joy. Over three days the Gay Village becomes a tapestry of stages,
family and youth zones, sober social spaces, wellness sessions, fashion markets and late‑night parties.
It’s an accessible, intergenerational, explicitly trans‑led space in the spiritual home of Manchester’s
LGBTQ+ life. For many, Sparkle is a first experience of being fully themselves in public; for others,
it’s an annual reunion of chosen family that stretches across the UK. Expect panels on trans history and
health, community stalls packed with queer‑owned businesses, and performances from poets, drag artists and
musicians who bring the full spectrum of our culture to the stage. Volunteers, elders and younger folks
stand together here—proof that trans life in Manchester is vibrant, resilient and unstoppable. If you’re
building a database for queer audiences, Sparkle is a cornerstone: free to attend, heart‑led, and
unmistakably Mancunian.
