Partisan Collective is one of Greater Manchester’s most radical and inclusive spaces. Based in a converted industrial unit on Oldfield Road, it’s a member run, not for profit venue that hosts everything from art exhibitions and film nights to live music, drag shows and political discussions.
Partisan’s ethos is rooted in accessibility, co operation and liberation. It’s a proudly queer and trans positive venue, run by volunteers and community members who believe culture should belong to everyone, not just the privileged few. Regular events include Queer Craft Club, Open Decks for Queers and Radical Book Club, plus club nights with collectives known for creating safe, joyful spaces for LGBTQ+ dancers.
The space itself is flexible and unpolished in the best way, fairy lights, art on every wall, and the buzz of genuine community energy. There’s a small bar serving affordable drinks, and events are often pay what you can or donation based, ensuring nobody’s priced out of culture.
Partisan also runs workshops on activism, accessibility and wellbeing, and regularly partners with local organisations. It’s one of those rare venues that truly lives its values, inclusive, creative and beautifully authentic.
