Bolton Music Service

Music hub for young people and the community, nurturing talent and confidence.

Bolton Music Service is where half the town learns its first instrument — and for good reason. Based near Victoria Square, the service runs lessons, choirs, orchestras, and creative projects across the borough, giving young people the chance to perform on proper stages. The staff are passionate about inclusion, ensuring cost isn’t a barrier and every child feels seen and supported. They run “Music for All” programmes and LGBTQ+-friendly youth ensembles that emphasise creativity, confidence, and collaboration. Concerts range from school showcases to large-scale performances at the Albert Halls, filling the town with sound and pride. Accessibility and safeguarding are priorities, with welcoming tutors and clear information for parents. Whether you’re seven or seventy, the Music Service has a way of bringing Bolton’s communities together — one song, one rehearsal, and one big applause at a time.
